"'It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness." He was talking about running restaurants, right?
Matt and KellyAnn are excited to renovate and expand Thorn's Showcase Lounge, the previous restaurant housed in this downtown historic building. The team will use their combined 20+ years in restaurants to transform the space into the new Flamingo, while recognizing the buildings immense history. This is their second small business venture, alongside their flagship Salted Roots Cabins. Matt and KellyAnn are dedicated to revitalizing social infrastructure in Seward, and are excited to bring the community it's first ever craft cocktail lounge... and so much more.
A fresh paint job is only the beginning. Future renovations will extend the restaurant, doubling its size, to connect the bar with our new outdoor patio area. We hope to build a private dining room in the basement of the building, to host full parties up to 40 guests, with an exclusive 'speak-easy' dining experience. More beer garden events to come in 2024, but you may have got a small glimpse into what is happening downtown during July 2023.
